Intro from new Tournament Director

Nate4dmds2Hi. I’m your new Tournament Director, Nate Beem. A few of you might know me, either through meeting me at a tournament or from interacting with me online, but for the majority of you this will be our first introduction. I’m 37 and live in Virginia Beach, USA, where I run a Blood Bowl league and several tournaments. As the NAF’s first elected official from the United States, I’m sure that I lack certain areas of knowledge, but hope that I can make up for that by bringing a fresh perspective to the organization. I have been playing Blood Bowl for 25 years and it consumes huge amounts of both my spare time and my disposable income, so please rest assured that I want the best for the game.

The next NAF World Cup will take place during my tenure and will obviously be a huge focus of the current term, but I would also like to make the organization more relevant to those coaches whose location or finances won’t allow them to attend such marquee events (although there is still time to either move to Lucca or get a second job). While I have a number of ideas toward that end (most of which were mentioned during my campaign), please feel free to contact me if you know of a way that the NAF can better serve you.

If I may, I would like to recognize the other candidates for Tournament Director. Andy, Dan, Joe, and Torsten are all valuable members of our organization whose commitment was proven by their willingness to accept more responsibility within it. I will look forward to working with them during my tenure and might also steal a few of their ideas! I’d also like to thank my predecessor Brendan. He was a great help to me during my time as a tournament organizer and has been quite gracious in preparing me for the responsibilities of my new office. I only hope that I can be nearly as effective as he was.

Thanks for your time and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if there’s any way I can be of service or if you’d just like to say hello.
