Tilean Cup

tileanJamsus attended the Tilean Cup in Italy in May 2013

Once upon a time there was Blood Bowl.  But what can i know about Blood Bowl, that I play it for less than a year? I dont know, but on Sunday, May 19, I travelled to the Tilean Team Cup to substitute for a sick player from one of the three teams from the Blood Bowl community in Florence, Predatori BloodBowl. I could not play on Saturday because of Baseball but I was ready to “patch” the incomplete team for the last 2 games.
And then I arrived there, Club TreEmme, great place and great organization. There were players from all Italy (and a team from Spain too!), familiar faces and unknown faces, all there, all for one purpose. Have fun together, play together, win or lose (or draw) together in the biggest Italian tournament of all time. Around 130 players, over 360 games in two days and more than 80 people at the social dinner. I don’t want to think about the number of failed go for its over the weekend! There must have been a great suffering. The “Core” of the Organization was The Evolution Team, that worked very hard with Club TreEmme to be able to achieve all of this! Hehe, just think of the people who, instead of going to the hostel, were hosted in the “local players” houses, or picked up by the train station each morning. And we have not yet taken account of last minute defections (fiancees problems, sickness, random bewilderment)… all of which were promptly replaced! Yes, a great work by Evolution but also a great satisfaction i believe.

tileaBut, we talked about people, numbers, food… but the Blood Bowl? Heh, the Blood Bowl was in the air, was the “glue” of all that chemistry. Of the players who faced the turns side by side with teammates, of those that meet their “field” friends only on these occasions, of all the joy and all the rage that a dice roll can generate. And then, only then, the Winners. The team “Taverna dei Gargantua” confirms its hunger of victories also this year, but the horns of “Minotarri” and the tusks of “Wild League The Original” are right behind them… Oh yes, and finally arrives me! That with only two matches and one day there, I could have seen all of this, and tasted the Blood Bowl that was in the air. It was really good.
