Snotlings and NAF Tournaments

Dear members,

As many of you will know, Games Workshop are releasing their latest BB2016 Spike! Journal this weekend; (re)introducing the Snotling race to Blood Bowl.

As Spike! Journals have been released throughout BB2016, the NAF have encouraged Tournament Organisers (TOs) to include new material at their discretion until it is formally reviewed as part of the Annual Review process. However, we have also asked for some lag between release and inclusion, such that attendees have a chance to review and understand new material before being confronted by it at a tournament. With minor updates to races or new inducements, we have not defined a formal time period for this lag, but with something as significant as a new race, we have decided we should (this was not necessary for Old World Alliance, as they were released during a global Covid-19 lockdown).

For Snotlings, we have decided to define the lag period as one week from release, as some rules have already been shown online by Games Workshop and coaches will be becoming familiar with them already. This means that the NAF database will not be accepting Snotling games played before 5th September. We know some of you are keen to get going on release weekend, but for the reasons described above, we ask that you wait to do so.

We have already included Snotlings in the database in preparation, and Score! is being updated as I write (thanks Mike / Sann), so we should all be able to start those Pump Wagon engines shortly (at TO discretion)!

Thanks,

Phil / Purplegoo.
