NAF Tournaments Come to BB2

Dear members,

We are delighted to announce the first NAF tournament on the Blood Bowl II platform: The Welsh Blood Bowl Championship.

The format of the tournament will be six, weekly rounds of Swiss Blood Bowl, beginning on August 12th. All games played between members will contribute to their ‘Online’ variant rankings in the NAF database, and I’m sure the bragging rights for our first BB2 winner will be substantial!

Instructions as to how to join the tournament, as well as team building information, can be found in this rulespack. Whether you are new to the format or a BB2 legend, all coaches are welcome to join us, and we encourage you to use the NAF Discord channel to talk about the tournament or ask for clarifications if you need them. We’re here to help! For the moment, we are only able to support tournaments on PC; this tournament is not open to X-Box or PS4 players.

We have been working to put together BB2 tournaments for some time, and I’d like to thank the team, especially Poncho, Obsidian and our BB2 Tournament Co-ordinator KFoged, for their hard work in getting us here. I’m sure you’re all as excited as me to see this up and running!

Good luck, and have fun!

Purplegoo / Phil.

Fantastic news! A lot of my locals dont really get on with FUMBBL and have been waiting for a NAF BB2 thing 🙂

  2. If only someone had come up with this Fantastic idea earlier. With BB3 on the horizon, let hope the NAF embraces this for those of us who dont live in an city that runs a Naf event every other week.

    1. Hello there,

In my time as TD, I have heard various forms of ‘why don’t you just turn on BB2 tournaments?’ any number of times. As alluded to above, it isn’t (or wasn’t) as simple as that, or we would have done it by now. Setting this up has not been trivial; there was skilled work necessary from the team such that we could bring the membership BB2 tournaments of sufficient quality to move ahead with. There would have been little point doing this if we could not link results to the NAF database, for instance, and that took coding expertise and no little creativity.

We’ve been offering online tournaments since 2015, and I’m delighted that we can now support BB2 events going forward as part of that offering. It has taken a while, yes, but as ever, we are only as good as our volunteers allow us to be. We got the right team in place a few months ago, and we have been able to deliver. This isn’t the first time we have tried, as I’m sure you can imagine.

My inbox is always open to members who think the NAF could be doing cool things that we are not doing. It is wider open still to those that put their hand up to deliver the cool things. If this is you – come on down!

I hope you don’t feel that I have picked on you in this response. I know that there are likely several people wanting to make a similar point to your first sentence, and I thought this was a good opportunity to respond.

      Thanks!

    1. This is the case with the FUMBBL events and will be with BB2. It’ll be added to the list in due course.
