Tiering at NAFC

This year was the first year of tiering at the NAFC, and while there are other factors in play (cool models, preparing for big tournaments, general preference), it’s interesting to see the variation in races between the years.  These were the Tiers:

So from 2016 to 2017, this is what we see.

Race 2017 % 2016 %
Amazon 6 3% 5 3%
Chaos 7 3% 1 1%
Chaos Dwarf 4 2% 4 3%
Chaos Pact 4 2% 3 2%
Dark Elf 15 7% 11 8%
Dwarf 12 6% 12 8%
Goblin 3 1% 9 6%
Halfling 13 6% 6 4%
High Elf 7 3% 4 3%
Human 17 8% 3 2%
Khemri 9 4% 0 0%
Lizardman 10 5% 6 4%
Necromantic Undead 21 10% 7 5%
Norse 5 2% 6 4%
Nurgle Rotters 3 1% 0 0%
Ogre 6 3% 2 1%
Orc 15 7% 6 4%
Pro Elf 8 4% 1 1%
Skaven 11 5% 8 6%
Slann 3 1% 2 1%
Undead 8 4% 23 16%
Underworld 3 1% 4 3%
Vampire 1 0% 2 1%
Wood Elf 14 7% 18 13%
205 143

Big changes include massive uptakes in Khemri, Necro and Human, a massive 6% Halfling contingent (inspired by the #bringthefling campaign) at the expense (possibly) of their Goblin brethren, and a huge drop off in percentage terms for Wood Elves and Undead.  So the nerf to the “Tier 0” worked, but now there’s a big concentration in Necro, who also made it to the Final!
