Portugal 2017
Presentation given by maitre_tactac on behalf of Haktar, Portugal captain.
21st and 22nd October 2017. There are local organisers. Will be held in Porto.
Porto has an airport with a Metro.
Will need to confirm with Haktar the exact dates (95% at the moment). What was the tournament software they were using there?
Organising team: Haktar, Oon, Axtlinge, pink_charlie, Barry, JC, Vincekiller, Buck’s (Presentation attached)
4 options for holding it.
Likely one is University of Porto. Question is whether they can sell beer?
Lycos knows someone who could get involved, but he wasn’t on the presentation.
No indications of cost as yet.
If registration is not possible by the 1st Feb for Portugal, then the Eurobowl Committee will be authorised to make a decision about the 2017 Eurobowl. Committee will contact them to notify this.
Hosting for 2018
Hosting rights include 6 out of 8 of a nation.
Scotland, Wales, Hungary want to.
Poland not eligible.
Finland, Norway, Switzerland choose not to.
Eurobowl Committee
Forum on TFF is dead between Eurobowl Captains’ Meeting, so what is the best way forward?
Zulu suggested a committee of 5 people – 3 captains and the 2 next hosts. Committee elected each Eurobowl.
Example is ratifying the “unwritten rules”.
Italy thinks committee is not needed – should be kept easy. Host should have choice of venue, rules, etc. For example, who would have the authority to decide a different host if a particular host falls through?
Poland drew the parallel with European Team Championship, that the roles and rules need to be clear.
Written vote for whether there should be a Eurobowl committee.
12 to 3 yes for a Eurobowl committee.
- First job is ratifying unwritten rules.
- Second job is writing the terms of reference of the committee.
- The committee would also monitor the progress of Portugal’s Eurobowl preparations.
Volunteers to be on the committee:
Germany, England, Belgium, Norway, Denmark would like to be on the committee. It was agreed that all should be on the committee along with the next 2 hosting nations.
Rules
Italy would like 3.1.7 to change from 105 – 150 to 100 – 150 to represent the history of the Eurobowl, as the first 3 were 100 TV.
There was a question about hosting rights – attendance at the current year counts as 1 of the 2 out of 3.

Protection for established teams. Recognition of the captain – one captain will designate the next captain, who then picks the team. Unanimously passed. If the captain disappears, the committee should contact a captain.

I’m Yannis Hatzopoulos from Greece and I’m trying to put together a team for Portugal 2017 . To whom should I speak to , if things go according to plan?

When the website http://www.eurobowl.eu/2017 is up and running, you will find information on lots of things – also how to register a team.
At the moment no centents have been filled in.
I don’t expect registration will be open untill February …
It is good to get in personal contacts to some other nations. A good way is the talkfantasyfootball.net – forum – its visited from most nations regularly.
