AnswerEvery time I try to post, I get a message saying Invalid Session. Why? There is a bug in certain browsers that sometimes creates problems with "cookies". The only solution I've seen is to delete your cookies for www.bloodbowl.net and try again. When and how was the NAF founded and by whom? The NAF was originally Jervis Johnson's idea. He pitched it to the Blood Bowl community and our first President, John K Lewis, took responsibility for it. Major early "players" included Anthony Watts, our first Vice-President, and our webmaster Christer. Brian St. James & James Wood also provided invaluable assistance along the way. More recently, Andy Hall at Fanatic and the rest of the NAF staff, especially the NTOs (now RTCs) have all contributed to make the NAF what it is today. How can I find my member ID number before I have my membership card? If you signed up at a tournament then chances are you'll be a member of the site before you receive your official letter. To find your member number, simply check out the memberlist and look for your username. Ask a member of staff if you get stuck. Alternatively, you may have joined but not received your package but you then attend a tournament. You won't need your membership number as long as you make it clear to the organiser what your NAF username is/will be, and it might be worth telling your RTC too. What should I do if I have a membership question that isn't answered in these FAQs? The first thing you should do is check out the NAF forums, using the button at the top of the screen. There is a long topic in the comments section here that is regularly checked and you will get a fast answer. Alternatively, contact your regional tournament co-ordinator using the Private Message functionality. You can see who is a RTC from their avatars or signatures, and the PM button sends them a message. Check the Contact Us page too. Finally, if all else fails, email wodell.league@ntlworld.com, but please try the other methods first. Where do I go and pay to renew my for my membership? Click on the 'Membership Status' link on the left navigation menu. Is there anywhere that we can buy more color block dice? Unfortunately not. The NAF dice are only available when you take out your membership, and we sadly aren't able to sell them individually. Can I get one of the older sets of Block dice once a new colour is released? Unfortunately not. Stocks for the Block dice are fairly limited and it's usually the case that there are not many sets left. Although in the future it may be possible to offer "back catalogue" dice, at present we are unable to. How is Coach Rating calculated? Each coach starts with a Coach Rating of 150 for every official Blood Bowl roster. If you attend a NAF sanctioned event using a particular race, your NAF ranking for that race is then activated. When you win a game, you gain Coach Rating. When you lose a game your Coach Rating is reduced. The neat part is that your Coach Rating is adjusted based on the how tough the opponent was. For example, if you lost to a very good coach then you lose less Coach Rating than if you lost to a worse coach. If you play at NAF sanctioned tournaments, then the larger the tournament, the larger the potential change in your CR. No, really, how is Coach Rating calculated? Coach rating is calculated by a complex formula and isn't for the weak of heart. It's based on the ELO ranking system. Here is the formula as it stands: Win Probability = 1/(10^((Opponent???s Rating ??? Your Rating)/150) + (( Opponent's TR - Your TR)/70)))+ 1) This probability is then used to recalculate each player???s rating after the match. In the equation below, players receive 1 point if they win the match, 0 if they lose, and 0.5 for a draw. Players??? new ratings are determined as follows: Player???s New Rating = Player ???s Old Rating + (K-Value * (Scoring Points ??? Player???s Win Probability)) The number of NAF coaches in the tournament determines K Value in this equation. The formula is: K value = sqaure(Number of NAF coaches) * 2 Example: Bud, Lizardmen ??? 150 CR, 100 TR John, Orcs ??? 150 CR, 100 TR People in the tournament ??? 24 Bud defeats John: Win probability for Bud = 1/(10^((150-150)/150)+((100-100)/70))+1) = .5 Where can I find a NAF logo to use on my own site? Here is a JPEG version and a Photoshop version. How do I buy a star player for my team on STARS? At present you can't I'm afraid. The main reason is because Star Players are freebooted in leagues so they are never a permanent member of the squad. how to buy re-rolls and fan factor on team? For your QUILT team use the small + or - buttons next to the reroll or fan factor count This is almost certainly because the person who beat you had a lower ranking than person you beat - so you lost more points than you gained. Why does it take so long to process my package? Roughly once a month, all members waiting packages (who's addresses are complete etc) go through processing. First of all, a print run of cards/letters and address labels is done in Canada. These are then sorted into regional packages and sent out to the USA, Australia and Europe. (Canadian packages go out from source). From there volunteers in each region make up the individual packages and ship them out to members. So the variable wait is dependent of when the sign up or renewal occurs, obviously a renewal or sign up that occurs just before a print run will wait up to a month less than one that occurs just after. Thanks for bearing with us. Update for 2007 -- the above has changed from 2005. Now the package is dice only and is shipped from the UK. there is a shipment about twice a month in 2007 so if you dont hear after 8 weeks go to the NAF comments section. It is still possible to buy white block dice from the USA via Mail Order, provided you know the part code for the item. Ask around on the forums here or at TalkBloodBowl and someone will be able to help you out! When I renew my membership do I get the new color block dice? Yes you do. How do I add a team to myLeague after I have created the league Simple, the league administrator needs to edit the league and add all the teams that wish to take part! You need to note down the ID of the team and send it to the admin so he can add it specifically. What is the way to know my Member Number? Goto Members List then select your name from "Online Users". It will bring up your personal details, including your Member number. Sadly not, almost everything has changed since 1st edition. However, you can often find cheap templates, dugouts & pitches on eBay for a reasonable price, or members on the forums may be willing to trade/sell those that they own. The NAF package is now only dice although in the near future we will be using a PDF hello letter and "home printed" member card. You are correct, your sign up at the first time requires an address and we would have despatched your dice. If you have a problem, PM the membership sec who in March 07 is Lycos on the NAF and TBB boards. Follow the links: 'My Account' on the left toolbar then hit the 'Edit your Information' button. There was a delay in late 2006 getting the packs out Saskia. See the comments section for more information but your dice were sent on Jan 26th. I was wondering what the colour of the dice is The current colour is Green with Red insert. This is not the easist to see in my view so if you have them here is a tip. Take normal bright white paint and paint the face of the dice making sure you have the red covered. Wipe on normal kitchen towl. Leave to dry and in minutes you have clear white skulls on your Green dice! The development for incorporating the changes from LRB4 to LRB5 is going on at this moment. Yes I can help you Marcus. Drop me a PM and I am sure we can sort something, Lycos |
