RIOTS 2015 Review

2015 Results ImageSaturday morning brought the promise of bloody glory and unlimited tea and coffee (at least for those that navigated the dangers of the Essex wastes). 20 coaches from around the South East and 2 from Wales competed in the 2015 RIOTS Championship; with fantastic prize support from Impact Miniatures, Willy Miniatures, MK1882 and Sukubus Studios.

Coaches competed over five rounds, each with the hope to raise the hallowed RIOTS Championship Shield.

Every round of matches also offered coaches the chance to get their hands on some terrific prizes; the criteria for these round awards (sponsored by the fine folks at Moonstar, “Make mine a Moonstar!”) were a little different to the usual competitive tournament mind-set for coaches, and more in the ethos of the RIOTS team. The Slat Nav award for the most completed passes, the Made of Welsh award for the most broken team and the coveted Dirty Player award won for the second time by young Jake Bristow making 14 fouls in one match… I think you’ll agree, that’s commitment!

After 2 days and 5 rounds of Blood Bowl, many carbs and one or two uses of loud profanity aimed at Nuffle a clear winner had emerged; Purplegoo was crowned the 2015 RIOTS Champion. The prestigious honour of this event obviously weighed greatly on him; as he raised the RIOTS Shield aloft all in attendance lamented his lack of Sure Hands… luckily with the use of a Moonstar Reroll and some super glue he was welcomed in to the RIOTS history books.

Many thanks have to go to our participants; our spot prize sponsors and a MASSIVE thanks to Manitcore Rich whose help made the event run as smoothly as possible. (Late arrivals and Score! issues aside!)
